Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L

Few days ago I got my Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L. Here are some pictures from this really amazing lens.

Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM

After almost a year since I bought the EF 50mm f/1.8 MK II, I decided that it is a time for upgrade but I was not sure when. Today out of nowhere a friend called and told me that he is selling his EF 50mm f/1.4 USM lens and offered me a deal that I could not refuse. Few hours later the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM lens was added to my collection.

My first impressions were that the lens did not have the build quality of a L series lens but it was definately a step up from the f/1.8 MK II which felt like a cheap plastic can. The other thing was that the ring was not as smoot as my 17-40mm or the 135mm f/2.  As for the image quality I was not able to test it yet but in a few days I hope that the first pictures will come.

Canon EF 135mm f/2 L – finally here

Today I was very happy when I received a call from my photo store telling me that my Canon EF 135mm f/2 L is  waiting me to pick it up. I grabbed my bag, went to the store and took my “precious” home.

I got it too late in the afternoon so I was unable to find any victim to try the new lens with. But I hope tomorrow I will be able to take some.

My newest toy: Canon 40D

Today I sold my old Canon 400D and bought the new Canon EOS 40D. Since it was raining and I got the camera almost at dusk I was unable to take any pictures, but since I just got this camera in my hands, expect the first images soon.

Since I decided to buy a new body and replace my Canon EOS 400D with the newer Canon EOS 40D I decided to take a few shots of my “old” equipment.

I am still thinking of keeping these lenses but I do not know if I will still need them since on my shopping list currently I have the following:

• A good bag to carry all this in one place
• Bag for the light stands

Since I am running on a tight budget and this equipment nearly costs as much as a small car I do not know if I am going to buy all this at once so… I think I will keep my old lens for a while I never know what might come up. Update: Got a few things from my shopping list, the others will join my gear in a month or so. I sold my old 28-135 IS to a friend and I have few more $$$ in my budged.
